The Device Technology and Chemical Physics Laboratory (DEVTECH & CP Lab) is a young research lab (established in 2017) of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology. The major research activity of the DEVTECH & CP Lab is focused on the science and the technology of next-generation nanostructured organic semiconductors and it focuses on the interdependence of composite material properties, process mechanisms and device performance.
In doing so the DEVTECH & CP Lab has the capacity to undertake small-scale material synthesis and to facilitate the access to analytical tools, intense light sources, electrical and optical engineering instrumentation that provide powerful insight and understanding of material properties at the nanoscale. Based on low-temperature solution-based processing protocols the DEVTECH & CP Lab aims to gain control over the material microstructure and to enable the fabrication of optoelectronic devices for light management applications, such as photodetectors, solar cells, phototocatalytic platforms and memory media with tailored properties.
At present the DEVTECH & CP Lab has established fruitful collaborations with many different research labs of the Cyprus University of Technology and with the University of Cyprus. Moreover, in liaison with a broad international network of active research collaborators in academia and industry, the DEVTECH & CP Lab is engaged in the concept of creating new knowledge and of providing top-notch training to young researchers and undergraduate students.
